The Exhibition The Turtle presents students’ works which are results of an educational journey of the departments Digital Art, Photography as well as Art and Communication Practices in summer 2016 to Chongquing, China. In order to gather collective cultural differences, an exchange with Chinese artists was crucial for the journey. Life in the megalopolis of Chonquing seemed equally strange and familiar to the students, except for a confrontation with turtles. The students were given the task to find an artistic approach to the alien environment on the one hand, and to the universal air of the city on the other.

As a representative of the Chinese viewpoint, resident Artist Zhou Bin will show his artistic approach in an environment which is as alien to him as Chongqing was to the students. The students’ Western European positions include installations, discoursive experiments and readings.

With Karina Fernández, Susanne Frantal, Sebastian Grande, Maria Magdalena Ianchis, Jonas Jahns, Mira KlugVictoria Mlakar, Olena Newkryta, David Osthoff, Philip Röttl.

Exhibition Duration: 13. – 16. Dezember 2016
